Six Seconds

 

A song is reduced to its smallest indivisible unit: one note after another, with about six seconds between each. Six seconds is the physiological limit of auditory sensory memory — the point at which a single pitch begins to decay from the mind. Through spatialized audio,
each note arrives from a different direction in the room; by the time the next one sounds, the last has already slipped out of reach.  A song being listened to and, at the same time, being forgotten.
