Six Seconds
Multi-speaker arrayc, audio spatialization system, dimensions variable, continuous live listening event

A song is reduced to its smallest indivisible unit: one note after another, with about six seconds between each. Six seconds is the physiological limit of auditory sensory memory — the point at which a single pitch begins to decay from the mind. Through spatialized audio,
each note arrives from a different direction in the room; by the time the next one sounds, the last has already slipped out of reach.
The melody is in none of the notes you hear. It exists only in your inference, in the spaces between fragments that can never be held at once. The listener is placed in a continuous,
futile, attentive act of reconstruction — always one step behind what is vanishing.
This is a work made of forgetting. It can only be experienced by a consciousness that forgets, and never by a system that recalls every note at once and keeps each pitch perfectly. It exists only as a live, linear, non-replayable event.
a song being listened to and, at the same time, being forgotten.
